the 3 components of communication. Song, music, and dance.

Communication is a fundamental aspect of human interaction, and it is often said that words can be just the tip of the iceberg. There are actually 3 components to how we communicate with others and they are: song, music, and dance. These components go beyond mere words and encompass how we convey messages through our tone, body language, and overall expression.

Song:

The words we use in a conversation make up the song component of communication. The actual words only contribute to a small fraction, approximately 10%, of effective communication. While choosing the right words is important, their impact is limited compared to the other components.

Music:

The second component, referred to as music, focuses on how we deliver those words. Our voice inflection, tone, and emphasis play a significant role in conveying the intended message. In total 40% of effective communication is attributed to how we say the words, significantly outweighing the importance of the words themselves.

Dance:

Lastly, the dance component represents our body language during communication. Non-verbal cues such as gestures, posture, and facial expressions can speak volumes without uttering a single word. A whopping 50% of effective communication is solely attributed to body language, showcasing its crucial role in interpersonal interactions.

By breaking down communication into these three components, we shed light on the hierarchy of influence each aspect holds. While words are the foundation, the delivery and body language significantly enhance the message sent across to the recipient.

The Power of Clarity:

In conclusion, effective communication encompasses not only the words spoken but also the way they are delivered and the non-verbal cues accompanying them.

By paying attention to all three components of communication - song, music, and dance - individuals can enhance their ability to connect and engage with others on a deeper level.

This serves as a reminder of the power of communication beyond words, urging us to consider the holistic approach to conveying our thoughts and emotions effectively to truly unveil the power of clarity. Remember, it's not just about what you say, but how you say it and what your body language conveys.
